The implementation of the Bear Smart Community in the Monte Genzana Alto Gizio Nature Reserve includes many actions, including monitoring the territory with camera traps. Since 2015, Salviamo l’Orso and the Rewilding Apennines team have been carrying out these activities in close collaboration with the Reserve staff. Thanks to our volunteers work and dedication we have been able to enrich the knowledge about biodiversity in the reserve and manage their territory, which is the largest Nature Regional Reserve in Abruzzo with 3,162 ha.
