Yesterday Salviamo l’Orso went to Amatrice, where, together with the Alto Lazio Beekeepers Association, they organised a meeting to start a dialogue about bears, damage prevention and compensation with local beekeepers.
The numerous participants and speakers initiated a necessary dialogue between the beekeeping and conservation associations, the mayors and the Lazio Region. We hope this will continue over time and lead to fruitful results both for the local communities and the bear.
We regretted the absence of the representatives of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park who, however, have already activated measures for the compensation and prevention of bear damage to the beekeeping sector.
