In recent weeks, Salviamo l’Orso has resumed its health prevention action against the main infectious diseases that dogs can spread to wolves and bears.
In fact, we vaccinated 67 shepherd dogs as well as microchipping and registering 11 of them in the regional canine registry. In continuity with previous years, the action involved livestock farms in the ecological corridors between the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, the Maiella National Park and the Sirente Velino Regional Park.
We thank our veterinarian Luca Tomei for his usual availability and the volunteers of Salviamo l’Orso and Rewilding Apennines for their support in this difficult activity, with dogs that are not always friendly. We also received the help of two special assistants: a very willing donkey and a goat!
