Bear in Pescolanciano

In this mild winter there are some bears that have not hibernated yet. In fact, few days ago an interesting encounter occurred in the area of Pescolanciano (IS). A young hunter observed a bear from a distance and, without disturbing it, waited for its distancing and then called Carabinieri Forestali. Ground surveys reported some footprints on the mud, confirming the passage of a bear.
We praise to the young “witness” for the good behavior adopted and for reporting a bear in this territory of expansion of the species towards South-East.
