Being a volunteer means sharing and facing challenges together

Our biggest challenge is for our bear, but behind this there are stories of personal growth, limits exceeded and discovery of themselves and of the others.
Beyond the work of our volunteers for the protection of nature of the Central Apennines, there is a human dimension built on shared passion and friendships of immeasurable value.

During this particular winter, our volunteers do not stop. While the bear is hibernating, our activities are mainly focused on monitoring the territory to identify possible sources of threat to the bear, the removal of barbed wire and the cleaning of subways. Always available for farmers in need, SLO is also responsible for repairing any damage to electrified fences previously installed. With spring approaching, we are preparing for the first awakenings!
