A few days ago, the volunteers from Salviamo l’Orso and Rewilding Apennines, in collaboration with the Monte Genzana Alto Gizio Nature Reserve, removed old rubbish, mainly plastic waste, along the very steep slopes of the stream Riaccio valley.
The area is of particular interest, not only from an ecological point of view, but also for tourism because it is crossed by the path that leads to the Callarelle waterfall, a highly valued place in the Bear Smart Community Genzana at Pettorano sul Gizio.
Compounded by the titanic effort made last year to recover many decades-old tires, this recent action of environmental restoration provides benefits for the local community, visitors, and the ecosystem!
